Vinegar & Baking Soda: Dampen the stain with white vinegar and generously sprinkle baking soda on top. A bubbling sound is created as the vinegar and baking soda react together. Hydrogen Peroxide & Dish Soap: Combine 2 tablespoons of warm water with 4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide, and several drops of mild dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on the stain and blot, repeat as necessary. Once the stain is absolved, lightly rinse the area with water, dry it with a towel, and vacuum up the leftover moisture.
Ammonia: In 1 cup water, add 2 tablespoons of ammonia. Use a towel to blot excess liquid. Once the area has dried, vacuum the area well.
Store-Bought Stain Removers: When choosing a commercial carpet cleaning product, be sure to invest in a pet stain remover that has enzymes in the ingredients to ensure the protein stain is best broken down. Always be sure to follow the label’s directions. The residues will need to be rinsed after the area is completely treated. Allow the area to dry and follow with a vacuum.
